The University of Wuppertal (BUW) offers a wide range of programmes in science, economics, educational science, design, architecture and the humanities. It is situated close to the cities Duesseldorf and Cologne. Its 7 faculties, 5 interdisciplinary centres, 9 university research institutes and 9 affiliated research institutes are distributed on 3 campuses. The interdisciplinary focus in research and teaching is a direct response to the demands placed on future young professionals. Some 13,000 students from more than 100 countries benefit from high-level academic approaches and from the university’s commitment to research and international collaboration, supported by about 290 professors. The annual budget amounts to circa 121 million Euros.
